Aqua Luxe Pools was founded in 1988 by Jim Stipes, a Florida native whose lifelong passion for pools was sparked by the long, sun-soaked days he spent swimming at friends’ homes. Growing up, his own family couldn’t afford a pool, but that only deepened Jim’s fascination and appreciation for creating beautiful, accessible backyard escapes. As a teenager, he landed his first job at a neighbor’s pool company, quickly immersing himself in every aspect of the industry and discovering a knack for transforming ordinary backyards into personalized havens.
Over the years, Jim rose through the ranks, becoming an assistant to the lead designer and honing his craft by learning everything from meticulous maintenance to advanced pool design techniques. By the time he founded Aqua Luxe Pools, Jim had already designed and overseen the creation of dozens of breathtaking inground pools. Today, he’s designed more than 500, each one reflecting his commitment to blending timeless aesthetics, cutting-edge technology, and superior craftsmanship.
Based on Long Island, our 14-member team now services Nassau and Suffolk Counties, handling everything from initial concepts to ongoing maintenance. Still guided by Jim’s original vision, Aqua Luxe Pools strives to provide exceptional customer care, uncompromising quality, and a passion for bringing families together in their own luxurious backyard retreats. After all these years, Jim remains personally involved in many design projects, always excited to introduce a new generation of homeowners to the joys of pool ownership.
